Rita and I have seen God answer many prayers in providing for the translation of children's literature in Romania, Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and the Philippines.

Thailand/Myanmar (Burma)

We continue to work with missionary Nicky Barnett who is dedicated to helping the people of these countries learn about Jesus. Rita and I will work in Thailand in December of this year to train translators, find a print shop and lecture to students about the Word. This is the least developed of the literature translation projects, but it shows great promise. The Lord has provided a computer and printer which have been in use for almost a year. He has also provided interested people who are qualified to translate Sunday School and BTC materials for the children of these two countries. There is a need for these materials to be translated into as many as four languages for use in Thailand and Myanmar.

Philippines

In the Philippines the 2002 VBS material was all translated, but the press could not get it printed in time for the beginning of the VBS season last summer. This means that many churches will be able to use these materials next summer. We are continuing to work toward providing children's BTC materials on a regular basis in the Filipino language. Please pray for the translators as they work diligently with minimal pay to accomplish great things for the Lord's people in the Philippines.

Romania

Perhaps the best example of what ICP has done to help churches and missions in the work of proclaiming the gospel is in Romania. For over four years we have been making copies of translated materials available to churches and missions. They have been taking a single copy and reproducing it on their own copy machines at substantial cost. This is why we are so excited to report that the very FIRST SUNDAY SCHOOL BOOK has been taken to the press. It will be a blessing to see the high quality, four color, book being used by the churches. Here is a quote from missionary Jerry Chandler's report for September:

We also are excited to report that we took our first quarterly to the printers.  Until now our translating team have been translating and printing Sunday School material, using our printer and copier in the office.  Thanks to your support designated for the Literature Project and your support of International Christian Publishers, directed by Bro. Bill Johnson, we were able to take our first book to the printers.  We will have a full color Sunday School book for our young people in the Romanian language.  This is a valuable help to the Churches and Missionaries here in Romania.
