May 2006 Report to Prayer Partners and Supporters

Thailand for Most of May
Two translators were trained, a new computer and a new copier are among the accomplishments for the work in Thailand. Peter will translate into the Lahu language. There are about 720,000 Lahu tribesmen in China, Burma, Laos and Thailand. They have no literature to train children. For research information on the Lahu Hill Tribe, click here.

Kak will translate the Sunday School material into the Thai language. Kak (nickname) has been involved in Baptist churches in Udon Thani area since she was a child. She is very well learned in the English language. She understands and believes the doctrines of the churches of the American Baptist Association.

The salaries for these two translators will be about $324 per month. We are trusting God to supply additional funds for these two translators.

The new copier and computer cost just over one thousand dollars. The copier will be used to serve the Heart to Heart Foundation, the ministry of Missionary Nicky Barnett in Chiang Mai and the ICP ministry as well. The new computer was set up in Udon Thani where Translator Kak will use it.

We also had ten thousand salvation tracts printed in English. (Click to download PDF of this tract. 2.5Mg) These will be distributed free in USA. These tracts, entitled “What Has Happened to Me,” have already been translated into Romanian language. They are also being translated and printed in Tagalog and Cebauno in the Philippines. They were written by Dr. Bill Johnson.

Romania
Printing Press Fund: We are still hoping to have funds for the press in time to purchase and install the equipment in 2006. If you would like to know more about this project, please call 903 278 2648 or click to send e-mail.
VBS Workshops in Romania and Moldovia: Liviu will be conducting VBS workshops for Romanian churches during May and early June. They also plan a trip to Moldovia, where there are many Romanian speaking people.

Philippines
Rita and I will board the airplane on May 27 bound for two weeks in the Philippines. Great things are happening in the translation ministry in the Philippines. We will have a full update on the work there in the next report.

A Special word of appreciation
Thank you to Nicky and Beverly Barnett for their patience and graciousness during our time in their home, and Danny and Rachel Jones for their help in training Kak. Also, a special word expressing appreciation to our daughter, Lynn, for taking care of the ICP office in Texarkana while we are away.

Expanded Ministry

The work of ICP has been expanded in Thailand and the Philippine Islands. This expansion will mean thousands more people will be reached in these Asian countries. But we are trusting God to supply the means to continue this essential ministry. Maybe God has enabled you to the the channel through which He will supply these needs. If so, please contact ICP today. Offerings may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, ICP Fund, P. O. Box 557, Hamburg, AR 71646. Or you may click on the link below to learn how you may make regular contributions.

Love in Christ,

Bill & Rita Johnson
